First I had a look at my memory usage because I always have a hundred things running in the foreground. Problem was at first resolved by doing system restore, that is til today when I tried it again, wouldn't startup and message said system restore didn't work. I am not an Apple fanboi, so don't start flaming me, but the only reason I use most MS products is because there didn't used to be any alternatives that worked. Just for the heck of it, I'd try the main menu's "edit/copy and edit/paste" or the keyboard shortcuts of ctrl-c (copy) and ctrl-v (paste) and see if either of those work. Build me a brick wall! I also like the s/w, but spending a week w/o my cut/paste was a huge inconvenience and frustration! I about pulled allmyhair out on this damn problem. It is much more preferable to restrict the copy paste between R studio and other applications.
