I will look at that area and see if any water might have gotten in there (marquette, MI Snowwwwy). Maybe the sensor that reads if the trunk is open or not thus triggering the lights to turn on? yup. If my memory serves me correctly this may reinitiate the sensor to trip the light circut when you open the door. Source

It almost seemed like the positive and negative poles of the LEDs had to be daisy chained in the right sequence in order for them all to work. The dome lights are plenty bright.
