I panicked...I tried to use a VGA splitter cable to route to my Dell 15 inch which only has VGA input. my secondary dell monitor has the same getup, an analog vga input and a dvi-d input. So the displays work with DVI on the first port, but only on VGA on the second. If Jim was able to get a picture then it should work as long as things match. If I read your post correctly, does that mean that it will never work and I just wasted money? Try each DVI output on the video card because DVI transmitters on separate outputs can sometimes be very different. When you reattach it, make sure to attach the adapter first.
