Eject Key On Mac Not Working

When I hit the eject button, nothing happens (in fact, the icon doesn't even appear on the screen). From the context, I presume you mean the Eject icon? Has anyone had issues with this? The caps lock key on the Santa Rosa MacBooks also has a slight delay on the caps lock key to prevent accidental activation. any help will be appreciated.
